A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
